Women in Bubbles Over Paris

Way before photoshop…

This collection was shot in 1963 by Melvin Sokolsky.  The photos were for the “Bubble” Spring Collection to be showcased in Harper’s Bazaar.  Each image features model Simone D’Aillencourt in elegant fashions of the time, floating in a bubble throughout Paris, France - the fashion capital of the world.  The bubble was made of plexiglass and hung from a crane in each of the chosen locations; yet the strings that held the bubble in place are completely invisible in the photographs.
